Being In Your Element

Every human being has a deep intuition about when they are being truly themselves, when they feel the most comfortable in their own skin, when they feel they have clicked into a groove. For some it is presenting in front of people, for others it is analysing information. 

But often we are not in our element. We feel uncomfortable, stuck or like a fish out of water. Often we can put it down to the situation, or the people we are with. But this explanation is far from empowering… haven’t most of us met people who seem to be in their element whatever life throws at them? Who seem to be at ease, in the flow of their own life, no matter what obstacles are put in their way? 

Most of the creative leadership tools in this toolkit (and the aim of this kind of work in general), is to help people be in their element no matter what situation they are in, or whom they are with. When this happens we are able to connect to our true potential, to the source of all our energy, joy and power; and wield these for our own good and the good of our team, at all times. 

We might be in our element in seemingly different areas – say both in client meetings and when pitching for business. But it is when we start to look at all the common themes, the similarities between the various different times and occasions, that we start to get clarity on something really unique – the true engine of our being. This engine is the thing that, once we know what it is, helps us live a life with more ease, harmony, balance and flow. We call this our true inspiration.
